we’re almost definitely going to get relegated.

Would like to see us score a goal or two though, that would be nice.

who do you support…?

Now big Jean is injured we’re pretty much guaranteed automatic promotion

I’ve not been arsed by the BBC’s archive games but I’m tempted to take a half day to give this a rewatch. Brilliant match.

Pretty confident that Leeds will get the job done, but it would be extremely Leeds to lose to Cardiff and Fulham and for everyone to have a meltdown. Win them both and we’re all but there, and it seems as though we should be ahead of other teams in terms of fitness.

I agree, not sure I liked what forshaw came out with the other day though :grimacing:

bittersweet seeing the top 2 leagues come back but with no lower leagues, also really quite worried about the long term future of lower league football. trying not to think about it too much cos there’s more important things going on and it makes me feel disproportionately sad

fulham have got all the top teams to play havent they… which could work for or against them

Think we’ve generally got a decent record against the other good teams. But I imagine the break and Senor Ramon Cugat will get the top 2 over the line.

Weird how the playoffs become a completely even playing field now. No difference between finishing 3rd and 6th if grounds are empty

Shame they haven’t had England v Iceland from Euro 2016 in. That would be just the thing to cheer the nation up during these miserable times.

Best thing about football in this country, and the unique thing really, has always been the depth of it. Think that’s been under threat as long as younger people have grown up with the hegemony of the Premier League and local working class fanbases have been priced out in terms of a generational/family activity, even down the pyramid. That generational dwindling interest and unsustainable wage structures seem like the two major issues, and this could be the tipping point.

Increasingly certain in ten years we’ll have a European Super League with the squids pulling up the drawbridge, a Premier League, a Premier League II and then semi-professional/amateur regional lower divisions. Absolutely doesn’t have to be that way but greed at the top and others trying to keep up will make it so.

95% of people saying ‘eh I’m not fussed about football any more, more important things going on’ will be acting like it never went away within about a day of it restarting. Actually, make that 99%

That was an unbelievably good game. Really want to rewatch it myself.

Think it’s only sheer inertia of the beast that’s prevented this from happening already.

west ham - our first 3 games are Wolves, Tottenham & Chelsea.

But we have the inspirational David Moyes to pull us through!!!

and Jack Wilshere’s apparently fit!!

100% going down

reckon it could go either way for Brentford

on one hand some of our players could have done with a rest, few had injuries so we’ve got them back now, squad’s looking pretty handy now.

on the other, every time we had to play Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday we struggled in at least one match with rotation/tiredness, so doing that for over a month might not be great.

not finishing top 2 anyway though, so as long as we don’t fully shit ourselves and drop out of the playoffs then that’ll be alright.

I have been so out of the loop with football that I completely missed Nigel Clough leaving Burton Albion! Imagine my surprise!

He has been dead for 15 years tbf to him

City - Laporte being back will improve things and it’ll be interesting to see if Pep uses the league to experiment a bit more ahead of next season. Sané will be back but could be at Bayern before the Champions League games. Probably even less likely to shift Otamendi now.

Macc - got a points deduction during lockdown, no closer to the club being sold, more debt and disgruntled fans.

West - losing money but gaining hearts.
