Reckon it’d be pretty big cos they’ve gotta cover for the lack of mid-week Champions League (though they’ll probably develop some kind of lame knock-out competition).

Dunno why I did this cos but came up with a 22-team league

Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool
United
City
PSG
Lyon
Real
Barca
Atletico
Sevilla
Juve
Inter
Napoli
AC Milan
Bayern
Dortmund
Leipzig
Ajax
Porto
Galatasaray
Olympiacos

Reckon Dortmund might turn down the offer but every other team would jump at the chance.

Nowt Chrissy Wilder hasn’t said after a few pints of Mallinsons.

Thing with the Super League is there would almost certainly be a Super League 2, basically a Europa League in a different format, so if you took the Big Six out, then, say, the big-ish four, you’d probably just get teams like Leeds winning the league.

Just chose the 16 clubs who get through the UCL group stage season after next. Or the top 3 and have 2 divisions of 12 or whatever (then fuck off).

That Set Piece Menu podcast had a bash at it obviously with some caveats thrown in at the start of lockdown

I don’t particularly disagree with it tbf there are obviously going to be discrepancies but, it isn’t terrible.

what structure would you choose for the Eurpoean Compu-Global-Hyper-Mega-Netting league?

  • a proper league, everyone plays each other home and away and that’s it, top of the league is the winner
  • proper league as the first bit (meaning all teams play each other every season) but followed by play offs between the top 2 or 4 to crown the winner for that year
  • split in to groups, leagues in groups then several knockout rounds (broadly same as current champions league)

This is the possible outcome imo
Spurs battling and ultimately overcoming the Evertons of the world to win the league

Lovely stuff

Bollocks to it all

reason I made a poll is that I genuinely can’t decide if I’d go for the proper league option or the option with play offs

gotta love a guaranteed final (tho the media would wank themselves silly over it) but it’s also clearly better to have the winner as the best over x games without 1 match deciding who gets the trophy

Proper league is the best option but, it’ll be the MLS playoff thing they’d go for. Particularly without any sort of relegation.
