absolutely love these photos you sometimes get for players from the 60s and 70s on Wikipedia and I think I’ve found the entire archive. think they all have a connection to dutch football - like they’ll have shots of real madrid playing ajax or spanish players at schiphol airport etc:
@aboynamedgoo probably knows about it already but here’s the Ajax photos - you can filter by team too:
really wish I could find more photos like this
such a classic genre of photo, 90s footballers perched on or leaning against very ordinary cars
That’s no ordinary car, that’s the fastest production Rover ever built!
The Rover 200 Coupé is a two-door coupé that was produced by Rover and based on the Rover 200 Mark II, with most of the body panels and the bumpers unique in the range. The car was launched on 6 October 1992, at the Paris Motor Show. It was given the project code name 'Tomcat' when in development.
When introduced, the range flagship, the 220 Turbo Coupé, was the most powerful and fastest production Rover model ever built.
The range was revised in 1996, with new engines, and was renamed Rover ...
It does seem appropriate for him to be pictured with it rather than something more exotic/exciting tbh.
:') such a Michael Owen car
I have memories of Stan Collymore in a tracksuit leaning on a Volkswagen Jetta or something, but I think the old copy of Match Magazine it was in is long-gone

A young me, having my photo taken with a top flight goalkeeper. I don’t imagine anyone here would recognise him.
Hint - 9-0.
Craig Forrest (dirty Ipswich scum)?
He’s the only relatively old 9-0 keeper I’m aware of. Given you said top flight I’m guessing this is pre-prem so I’ll be hopeless

Perry Suckling. In goal for the Liverpool 9 Palace 0 game.
Shows my age I guess.
Great name tbf.
Thinking about how much I hate Ipswich again now

Great career by all accounts.

it’s not about “ordinary” cars - as Michael is at great pains to emphasise to you - but this promo video of him going to pick up a new car is quite funny. he’s a fascinating combination of extremely arrogant and utterly boring. and he’s so chuffed with himself when he comes up with the “girls” comparison.
Have watched this so many times, usually after the Dubai helicopter video. What a gowl.
This Post Paid For By PROF$.
something very funny about the caption they’ve given him of “Alexanders Prestige customer and former England striker”.
in that order.
What if, instead of Michael Owen flies a helicopter around Dubai, I offered you Michael Owen drives an Audi around North Yorkshire…?
