Palace are apparently on the verge of signing Patrice Evra. 35 now but still a great signing if true.

:’( At least it’s not under Pardew I guess…

For the team spirit, sure. Still have nightmares about his last season here though

Tom Huddlestone is a lot older than I thought he was.

Not sure he’s old enough to be the next Bond yet though

We’re linked to van Aanholt, schlupp and Jenkinson as well so if might just be to push one of the other deals along.

Jenkinson is happening anyway right, but he’ll be at RB surely?

True good point. Schlupps apparently having a medical now. Im not sure if he’s actually all that?

We had him on trial for the reserves for a while which was a bit odd, got to be better than a broken Pape Souare or Zeki Fryers surely?

Hello Marckee, I have a question regarding the structural importance of those brick pillars in the new Chelsea stadium, do they look purely decorative from your informed eye or are they actually doing some kind of support job or anything? If so, is it actual traditional brickwork or will it be faked in some way?

Please do NOT mock any aspect of this question that is stupid. Thanks.

True, Leicester fans can’t believe we are paying £12m. But a couple of years ago he was their young player of the year.

I’ll leave the structural bit to Marckee (though I am assuming they’re just decorative), but they’re definitely planning on usuing traditions jack brickwork. I saw an article about the club considering buying a brickworks, and I think a few queries in the planning meeting were around where they were sourcing the 6 million bricks from.

Nice one, it’s a really impressive design IMO. (Dead bad that it’s going to a team that literally nobody on the planet gives a shit about though)

I doubt that the ‘buttresses’ will be supporting the seating and roof of the stadium itself, but they are forming the concourse, and so do service a structural purpose, even if it’s only give the impression that they’re enclosing the space and need to stand up.

The buttresses are almost certainly formed of a steel or concrete frame, with brick surrounds, so the bricks themselves will be cladding, rather than structural, but I have assumed that they will be laid traditionally.

A good indicator of how the bricks will be used is probably the extension to Tate Modern, by the same architects:

I’ve genuinely never met a Chelsea supporter in real life. Literally everywhere you go you meet Spurs and West Ham fans, occssionally even Arsenal, but never Chelsea. Never. Weird as fuck.

Bit disrespectful to Tim Lovejoy that, mate.

Go to Putney, Wimbledon or Surrey more (ps. Don’t)
