Love that he’s in Portsmouth’s all-time best XI after 33 games for them

Err I just met Russell Martin He was walking down Great Western Road FULL KIT

Salford are owned by a billionaire (Peter Lim) and five millionaires (Giggs, Scholes, Butt and the Nevilles). Their wage bill isn’t one of the very biggest in their league, but largely due to the speed of their promotions. They’re pretty defensive about their wages and say nobody earns more than £1k a week, but there’s no way it’s true.

Fylde have spent around £20m on their stadium and training ground alone. Anecdotal evidence, but i vaguely know a player who was offered a deal there for more than double (in excess of £2k a week) what he was getting at his current club.

I’d say both of those clubs are pretty unique. I’d expect both to be established Football League clubs within five years. Average for the level i’d guess would be around the figure you quote. Wages seem to vary wildly at every level. I know NWCFL wages can be as little as £25 a week…then the odd club around the level like New Mills starts paying £1k a week…and inevitably ends up in trouble.

this is the most wonderfully unnecessary bit of fart arsing around I’ve ever seen. hero

Can we do fave line-up for your fave team? I picked players I’ve actually seen play. If it was an all time eleven then maybe three of these would get in.

Crossley
Lyttle Walker Cooper Pearce
Stone Reid Woan
Roy
Collymore van Hooijdonk

Manager: Frank Clarke, by miles.

Honourable mentions: Super Lars Bohinen, David Johnson, Paul McKenna

I had my first season ticket in 1994. I didn’t really know what was going on as an 8 year old, but I do remember everyone standing up when Collymore got the ball.

Steve Finnan rocking up twice in two separate XIs here is an unexpected twist

Definitely belongs in ours though, toyed with Moritz Volz for bants though

Rob Jones was the bollocks but didn’t play much. I’ve a soft spot for Steve Finnan – part of an awesome defence.

For the record, I’ve gone mostly modern era. Although it’d be hard to break up that forward line, even for Kenny or Rush.

Can’t believe you’ve not found room in there for Andriy Voronin tbh
