📺 Freeview Films For The Week 📽

There was some talk to split this away to its own thread so it’s easier for people to find. :call_me_hand:

These are the tools I use:

https://www.whatsontv.co.uk/tv-guide/?platform=f00688ce-618e-52bd-ac1b-6829e20fc236&genre=film

The What’s On TV guide is the only one of these things that goes 2 weeks ahead and you can can filter to only show films. Then use TV24 sorted by Rating to see if I missed anything good.

This is a good idea :+1:

The Day Of The Jackal is one of my favourite films ever. Even though I think Charles Calthrop could have got his shot off in time and killed the policmen.

which overlord is on? the one from the 70s is v good

Pop star is fucking great!

Super 8 twice in a week seems excessive

It’s a shame they don’t stick Sing Street on 4oD after. Would like to see it again

Tuesday April 13, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Talking Pictures TV

Boobytrap (1958)
Thriller
An absent-minded professor invents a pen that will explode on the sound of bells then leaves it in a taxi.

The Driver (1979) is on talking pictures TV Thursday 15th April.

Directed by Walter Hill, starring Bruce Dern, Ryan O’Neal, and Isabelle Adjani. Existential cat and mouse chase between a perfectionist getaway driver and an obsessed cop.

One of my all time faves, it’s actually a really melancholy film populated by lonely souls. Car chase scenes are absolutely unmatched and no-one plays a belligerent prick like Bruce Dern does. Recommended.

Film 4 does this quite a bit, showing films more than once in the space of a week or two - they’re turning into ITV2!

I’ve noticed they seem to be repeating a lot of stuff now, it used to have some really interesting stuff but now it seems they just whack Logan on repeat

Seriously, how many times is Sony Movie Classic gonna show Our Man in Havana?

It’s been on like 3 times a week for the past month.

Considering how everyone is indoors, the amount of repeat showings is odd. BBC had Westworld on last night, they had it on a couple of months ago too

“Gideon of Scotland Yard” is on nearly once a day on either Talking Pictures or Sony Movies. Assumed it was an old TV series to begin with.

It’s repeated again on Sony Movie Classic at 3:30pm on Wednesday, if you’re interested…
