I use dried versions of both daily, never tried fresh turmeric. Might give it a go.

what makes me feel old about this story (it’s also weirdly moving a bit), but I remembered where I recognised the kid’s mother from. When I was in sixth form, I did some teaching assistant-y stuff in one of the lower year English lessons and I’m fairly sure she was the kid who kept talking about frogs and who I think was typing a story about a frog
