(was going to #notallfarmers this but never mind)
Back where I used to live a local farmer had all the stiles on a loop route fairly well accessible until the final one a few metres from the village which due to a combination of barbed wire and some weird trench thing was completely impossible, especially with the dog. Had to go all the way back around. I’m guessing people usually start the loop from that end and it was there to discourage people, but a bit counterproductive for me as it doubled my time on their land.
Another had two really aggressive dogs always running loose at the start of a right of way.
Should have complained about both those things really, but as relative newcomers to a small village it felt a bit intimidating.
Actually will #notallfarmers it though because I have met some brilliant ones, including one who calmly helped me get my dog back when it ran off on his land, and another who gave me a lift on a quad bike when I fell and hurt my ankle. And appreciate that quite a lot of walkers are dicks re: letting dogs wander anywhere and not picking up poo. But yeah, the ratios probably aren’t good.
