My friend, a massive Friends fan who took me to Friends Fest a few years ago, messaged me yesterday to tell me about Friends being on netflix and when was I going to start watching Friends.

I cannot ever imagine going “ooh I fancy watching Friends” and putting Friends on.

I can’t even get my act together to watch NEW episodes of series I like so why would I watch that old crap?

Even if it was on in the background on TV, I ain’t paying attention to it like it’s a brand new episode of Broad City.

I am intrigued to have a look as it feels like i’ve seen every episode yet have never actually sat down and watched a series (bar the first couple when i was a pecker and it first came on Ch4. Just seen so many repeats in the background/when in a hungover mess on E4/comedy central.

But will i actually watch an episode if i find one? Unlikely.

and yes, How I met your mother is awful, Big bang nearly as much so also.

are netflix going to make me watch F•R•I•E•N•D•S? I don’t want to watch F•R•I•E•N•D•S

“massively into” means still watching episodes/the films now years after they came out, going to Friendsfest/a similar thing

so it’s more weird to be massively massively into…

  • Friends
  • Harry Potter

If you’re 14 or under

Dude, could YOU be any MORE annoyed?

key difference, there’s new football matches happening all the time but the last episode of friends came out well over ten years ago

i do get that there are many many valid reasons for not liking football and it must seem pretty mad from the outside tho

Given half the population are obsessed with ball games, literally anything is fine

Both fine, but I do concede that it’s kind of weird that Friends has the fest and whatnot as if it’s the kind of cult thing that can facilitate that sort of thing. It’s a sitcom about pals, there’s not the gaps in lore or mystery or whatever to provoke going way deep into it.

Uh I mean

WHAT ARE YOU DOING, PROSPECTIVE MATE

Is the best episode of the show, ‘The Friends’ the one where Roscoe, the biggest friend eats the other five.

So I always assumed Friends was terrible as I have only really seen it when it used to be on at like 6pm every day after school, and I mostly remember the later seasons.

Anyway I started Season 1 on Netflix this weekend just cos it’s easy to kill 20mins and I’m not ashamed to say it has made me laugh out loud a number of times every episode ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The first few series (up to where Chandler and Monica) get together are fantastic

Hold on, there’s a fun and scientific way of working this out:
