Permitted level is 1000 nanograms per ml is the level. He was pretty much double that

that’s what Im surprised about tbh. the fact that assuming he’s been cheating, that he/sky slipped up… in a big race…

Will have to wait and see how they get out of it

so how many puffs is that I wonder? Like are we talking 4 puffs when he’s limited to 2 - or 16 puffs when he’s limited to 8

Difficult not to feel a bit sad. As someone that watches and enjoys professional cycling, you do invest a bit of emotion in the successes and failures of the riders.

He’s not a firebrand or Pantani that many of the fans lust over. However, I always felt he was a good ambassador – professional, charitable and well-mannered.

What matters more is the shadow this now might cast over professional cycling. Froome was a sort-of yardstick for clean riders, proof you can win well with a clean record. Now, with this revelation, who do you trust or does it not matter any more?

Christ knows, I’m not a asthma sufferer. But I’d make at stab at it being a substantial amount, and way more than the normal one or two you’d normally expect

Really? Haven’t read anything that suggests it is performance enhancing.

Poll time

  • Guilty as all hell, banish him to hell
  • Honest mistake, asthma innit
  • Dunno

From memory, my inhaler used to be 200ug per dose. I think they also do 100ug and 400ug variations.

Why are we discussing this then?

Really irksome that he’s said he welcomes the investigation. If that’s the case why not tell them at the time rather than hope he is doesn’t get caught.

I’ve just read somewhere that 16 puffs correlates to 1000ng/ml. No idea

Sorry everyone but I genuinely like(d) Froome

(and feel a bit sad about this)

I think within the confines of the team he was quite exciting to watch and represented himself and the sport quite well through the way he spoke.

We’ll have to see how he wiggles out of this one though :man_shrugging:

Well, because a rule has been broken.

I’m just taking issue with the line “it’s a known PED” - I don’t think that’s true - I haven’t read anything that suggests it to be so.

 why limit it to 1000mg if it doesn’t enhance performance?

Can’t really be CBA with a list tbh. Sorry Geoff. The Bike Wankers can explain my position. Really haven’t the time to type on out (my breakfast was 8 mins). Safe to say he’s a slippery cunt

No need to apologise man, you’ve done enough. Just knowing that you were angry was enough. Have a good rest of day :+1:

PED - Performance Enhancing Drug. Doesn’t have to be on a banned list. But yes, Salbutamol is a PED. Plenty out there on its benefits to athletes

And you my man
