From memory, my inhaler used to be 200ug per dose. I think they also do 100ug and 400ug variations.

Why are we discussing this then?

Really irksome that he’s said he welcomes the investigation. If that’s the case why not tell them at the time rather than hope he is doesn’t get caught.

I’ve just read somewhere that 16 puffs correlates to 1000ng/ml. No idea

Sorry everyone but I genuinely like(d) Froome

(and feel a bit sad about this)

I think within the confines of the team he was quite exciting to watch and represented himself and the sport quite well through the way he spoke.

We’ll have to see how he wiggles out of this one though :man_shrugging:

Well, because a rule has been broken.

I’m just taking issue with the line ā€œit’s a known PEDā€ - I don’t think that’s true - I haven’t read anything that suggests it to be so.

 why limit it to 1000mg if it doesn’t enhance performance?

Can’t really be CBA with a list tbh. Sorry Geoff. The Bike Wankers can explain my position. Really haven’t the time to type on out (my breakfast was 8 mins). Safe to say he’s a slippery cunt

No need to apologise man, you’ve done enough. Just knowing that you were angry was enough. Have a good rest of day :+1:

PED - Performance Enhancing Drug. Doesn’t have to be on a banned list. But yes, Salbutamol is a PED. Plenty out there on its benefits to athletes

And you my man

There’s zilcho evidence that inhaled salbutamol is p/e. On the plus side, it does make breathing easier, but its side effects are thought to cancel out any athletic advantage. Oral (tablet form) salbutamol, however, has anabolic-like effects and is not covered by the same exemption.

Well you say ā€˜plenty out there on its benefits’ - but I don’t think that’s true, from doing a little search around PubMed. Anyway, we can agree to disagree.

Yes, that is my understanding of it too.

Uneducated guess on why there is a particular limit set on it, as someone was asking, would be that its to try and prevent the use of the Oral/IV route you mention.

That’s cool. I’m obviously not an expert (I’m a retail manager FFS) but there is a reason why this is a controlled substance and that can only be for health reasons, or for performance reasons.

I’ve moved all the guff chat to a different thread so we keep this one on topic rather than a fucking car crash :+1:

I don’t like Froome because he rides a bicycle.
