I think they knew as soon as yesterday afternoon (when they put up ‘explanations’ of their stance on FB/Twitter) that they’d dropped a bit of a bollock and were just waiting for a chance to say it’s ‘intimidation’ as a cover so they could take the displays down and not lose face. The vibe and nature of the actual window displays themselves were surely the only issue here, a great many people would have been ‘ok with’ what they were doing if it hadn’t been handled in such an awkward, clumsy fashion.
No way the young kids who work in their shops should have to put up with having to ‘handle’ the grief from the average dick wandering in there off the street either; sounds like typical British upper-management twattery right there.
