Yeah same (well maybe glass boys) it’s got some great tracks but it’s very inconsistent

Yeah the only stand out track I remember off it is Son the Father so when David Comes to Life came out my expectations weren’t too high. Obviously I was totally blown away.

Glass Boys was a bit of a let down as a follow up to DCTL… hard to top though.

Going to give both HW and COCL a listen now.

basically you can broadly think of Hidden World as a vague pre-cursor to DCTL and COCL to Glass Boys…

Other than Son The Father, COCL does also have Crooked Head which is one of their best, and Twice Born is pretty good and Black Albino Bones is easily the poppiest thing they ever did wi yer man Dallas Green (their second Alexisonfire duet after George does Vivian Girls on Hidden World, which I got to see live once!)

I dunno, COCL is still decent but the production isn’t as crisp and it’s not quite as focused as the albums either side of it. It was a much better period for them in terms of singles i.e Year of the Pig/Ox, I Hate Summer even David Christmas was a laugh. As you can tell I’ve spent a lot of thing thinking about this

Made a playlist of everything I could find of there’s a while back I’ve been meaning to get to so now seems to be the perfect time. Think it’s got all, or at least most, of the ‘Year of’ EPs on there. Gonna be a Fucked Up weekend I feel.

Walk passed it every day and forget it’s Fucked Up related. Probably the best thing I’ve got hanging on a wall anywhere in the house.

HOLY FUCKING FUCK! Only had a chance to listen up to Fate of Fates but so far HW is unbelievably awesome. Baiting the Public WTF. Best recommendation I’ve had all year. Cant wait to listen to the rest of it.

I guess Diarrhea Planet have pulled out of Mirrors? Whatever, happens, but Mirrors haven’t said anything and have deleted all comments mentioning them and asking for confirmation from the Facebook event. Odd.
