Fucked Up - Rolling Thread - 'One Day' out now!

I dunno, the crowd signing along to I Don’t Wanna Live In This World Anymore (what a pleasant surprise!) was quite nice, but also tbh Damian isn’t quite as energetic as he used to be so it also feeds from that.

Anyway aye that was fantastic, the best I’ve seen them in quite a long time. Funnily enough the Dose Your Dreams songs worked better here than when they actually toured that album (Normal People sounded HUGE), but the aforementioned along with Joy Stops Time and Glass Boys were real unexpected treats, almost made up for no Hidden World songs (unless I missed something at the start as I walked in to them already playing ‘Found’)

Also as I anticipated, the new songs workeed brilliantly live, forget sometimes just how good a drummer Jonah is

Yeah was surprised how good the glass boys stuff sounded. Band sounded as good as i’ve heard them, such a relief after the last tour. Guitarist from the support band (who were great) filled in brilliantly and had good vocals too!

Yeah I noticed that tonight too, they look like they’re enjoying themselves again which is really lovely to see.

I often think about how good that night was where we saw them together :upside_down_face:

I gave Damian a “too sweet” during the last song (a particularly rip roaring Dose Your Dreams) tonight

Thought it started off fairly sedate but by the end thought it was pretty ripping from where I was! Felt like they gained momentum as they went on.

Still live and die by the fact that Glass Boys is one of their best songs. Welled up a little as they pulled that one out. Love the lyrics. What a band.

Yeah it’s a brilliant song even if the parent album is a bit meh (which they acknowledged on stage lol) was really happy to hear them revisit it

Re-listened to Glass Boys off the back of them playing the title track the other night, still definitely the weakest and the production sounds like it’s underwater BUT it was better than I remembered and it does get better as it goes along. Art of Patrons, Paper The House, Led By Hand, LED and the title track are all really great, so there’s at least half a good record in there

I really love it but probably tied up to the time of my life when it was released and the memories. Glad they’ve got at least the title track back in rotation!
