Fucking state of this

Just remembered how wholesome it was when Jonny Greenwood retweeted a Japanese Radiohead tribute band’s Ed O’Brien wishing the real Ed O’Brien a happy birthday

Is that a direct quote from Bonehad?

You’re probably taking the piss but seriously the bloke has got it spot on how Ian Brown sounded live in the early days. If I’d heard that version of Made Of Stone without seeing the video I’d have assumed it was from a live performance circa 89

Oh, you were talking about Noasis not the Stone Roses one. Ignore previous comment

That stone roses one is actually really good

I thought the version of Fool’s Gold was a bit rubbish but otherwise yeah, can’t fault how it sounds, just wish the bass player had made a bit more of an effort to look like Mani (maybe he does when they’re on stage)

Wait. So this isn’t No Way Sis, the Oasis cover band who bizarrely charted in the 90’s, but Noasis. An amalgamation of the cover and real band or a cover band cover band?

The intro, along with almost every other aspect, really dates that video.

Cripes that intro…

Did you get as far as the post-song link? Even more :grimacing:

No I stopped after the intro fortunately

You know what the song actually rings a bell. I’ve got a feeling I must have been channel skipping at some point, seen this for a second and thought it was the real Oasis.

It’s a cover of this

Which Noel openly ripped off for this

oh yeah I know, it just seemed plausible at the time that they may have done a cover of it and I suppose Shakermaker kind of proves it. Quite funny then really if this is a tribute band kind of slyly throwing shade at them, even if it almost certainly wasn’t meant like that.

There are some people in the comments thinking that this is a parody of Oasis rather than a tribute. Some people also pointing out that it goes to show how fookin massive Oasis were at the time that their tribute band could have a hit single and get on totp. Ridiculous when you think about it.

There was the whole Mike Flowers Pop thing too. Although actually I think this is weirder. Presume this was a Christmas TOTP.

Oh this this definitely weirder, for me anyway. I think this was the totp before christmas looking at the chart dates of this single (the christmas edition was always a recap of the biggest hits of the year I think). They were on totp twice though, there’s another video of them doing this song with Shaun Ryder as the presenter

We have a local one that is absolute carnage, I was the only fella there and the punters were going through so much Prosecco in advance of staggering down the High Street at 5pm to the pub before the Sugar Hut. Absolute scenes tbh, had a great time
