Fucking unreal

Turns out that dandruff and dry scalp are two different things.

Dandruff is caused by a fungus that feeds on excess oil on your scalp, and feels oily to the touch. Dry scalp is simply dry scalp, and causes little white flakes to fall down when you ruffle your hair that aren’t oily.

And now the bit that defies belief: ANTI DANDRUFF SHAMPOO MAKES DRY SCALP WORSE. ALL THIS TIME I’VE BEEN WONDERING WHY IT SEEMS TO MAKE MY ‘DANDRUFF’ WORSE. ITS FUCKING DRY SCALP!!

Itchy, flaky scalp.

Relieved, by T-Gel.

My scalp is dry as fuck atm. Flakes everywhere. Don’t like it.

I wash my hair with a bar of soap (Dove) so ruffling my hair or even just a sharp turn of the head can result in a snowstorm.

  • I knew that dandruff and dry scalp were different things
  • Thought they were the same thing, or at least when white flakes fell from my hair I’ve always thought “that’s dandruff”

I’ve got scalp psoriasis which is another slightly different thing. If your scalp’s itchy it might just be that!

Not noticed much itchiness, think it’s your bog standard dry scalp. Although my mum used to be covered in psoriasis.
