Got a big load of data in columns O - X of sheet 1. Got a column of data in column A of sheet 2.
Want to run a conditional format to highlight any cells in the first selection that match a cell in the column. And the same the other way round. Can’t get a formula to work.

Dunno. Could have some additional columns with a true,false lookup and run your formatting off those.

you mean anything in Sheet1!O:X which appears in Sheet2!A:A?

conditional format formula should be:
=COUNTIF(Sheet2!$A:$A,O1)>0

It sometimes tries to stick additional "s around your formula to treat it as text but just go back and edit them out if that happens.

Seems to be highlighting all of the cells if O1 is a match, and none if O1 isn’t a match. Instead of looking at each cell individually

double check if it’s $O$1 or O1. Change to the latter.
