Honestly, an audio recording of your average pun thread would go over better than these

Without wishing to defend some of these particular jokes, this kind of list is a bit like taking a single chord out of the context of a song - a good comedy set places one-liners or stories ina broader context which elevates them way beyond reading them in isolation.

maybe the winner one came at the end of a grueling 80 joke run of largely bad-taste, increasingly tortured puns about vegetables and mental health

To use @Twinkletoes’s analogy, it was like the tierce de Picardie at the end of a relentlessly, crushingly minor drone perhaps

Would quite like to write my own fringe show in which I am faced with the challenge of reverse engineering a thematically tight hour long show from the shitty vegetable joke

These jokes are at least trying, but none of them are as good as twitter.com/kidswritejokes’ “What do cannibals eat? Baked beings”

Fuck, had forgotten how absolutely perfect that was

I think maybe just the idea of cows is funny

Better than all of those

I’d generally agree but I reckon the Duke of Edinburgh one is decent, at least a 7, while I think the Thesaurus one is probably 2 and the anti-depressants one feels like a joke from the 80s or something.
