pirate captain and eye patch boy are terrible at acting
Iâm another one who doesnât know who anyone is at this point, but I quite enjoyed it having given up on really trying to follow any of that. Iâm the dragon at the end who also had seemed to lose track of what side anyone was on.
A couple of cracking episodes to start off series 3.
That was really obviously the original 9&10 from s2 deferred
bloody footsteps to the throne was very âI know writers who use subtextâ coded wasnât it
Some thoughts on the adaptation by someone whose read the books
This show is so much harder to follow character wise than GoT. Iâve read them and Iâm constantly having to look up who people are.
Overall, I feel like this wasnât a great story to adapt for the screen. Itâs so nihilistic, and has a resolution (bloody waste of time that achieves nothing) that isnât going to be dramatically satisfying on screen, especially given a lot of the principal characters are dead long before the end. It starts to get really chaotic towards the end too.
Theyâre setting the whole thing as Alicent vs Rhanera, but one ends up eaten by a dragon, another dies haunted in a castle. Just gives it the feeling of âstuff happeningâ rather than having a really sharp direction and something to say. Just feel I tune in every week to tick off some deaths
Episode 3. Emma DâArcy. Wow
Real Safdie brothers vibes
Yeah that was class. Really good of them to finally vary up the GOT format of cut between POVs just meandering the plot forward
