Doesn’t seem to know his arse from his elbow m9

Read something a while back that said season 8 was expected to be 6 episodes, each 80+ minutes, airing 2019. Don’t know if any of that is certain yet.

It’ll just be a series of feature length Christmas Specials to be aired alongside an Only Fools and Horses revival.

A nice dose of tits and dragons when the port gets opened after the queen’s (king’s) speech

In the final episode, they’ve all grown up and have got kids. Bronn and Arya are married. So are Podrick and Melisandre. Ned Targaryen, son of Daenerys and Jon, is starting his first day of school. Littlefinger and Sansa’s daughter Catelyn is starting the very same day. Bran has finishing his training to be the Grand Maester of King’s Landing. All was well.

The End.

Tyrion sits in his rocking chair with a pipe watching the kids play, sharing a bottle of wine with and elderly Varys. Four baby dragons are blowing smoke rings, everyone laughs.

And “Still rowing”. It’s not quite Sherlock levels of tumblr-baiting, but still

Yes.

appaz some nerdling on reddit has done loads of rewatching and research and calculations to prove that its totes reasonable for gendry to get from the battle to Eastwatch and for a raven to get from Eastwatch to Dragonstone and the dragons to then get to the battle in the time they were waiting on that rock, which is appaz also made clear in the episode that they were waiting there exactly that amount of time (something about the time it takes ice to re-freeze on a lake or summat). can’t be arsed looking it up let alone reading it but if someone more of a loser than me could that would be good cheers.

I have a suspicion that there’s a key piece of information the audience isn’t being given, and there’ll be a big reveal in the next episode. I can’t quite put my (little)finger on what makes me think that. Something about that scene with the faces and the dagger just didn’t sit right.

if that is what happens, it’s definitely bad writing but at this point I feel like the showrunners know we’ll forgive them a world of nonsense for a satisfying payoff

This has been my ending theory for a while, not sure if I’ve written it out here or not. Basically that Jon and Dany team up, just about defeat the White Walkers, but in such a way that they could potentially return some day. They agree to share rule of the seven kingdoms, but in the final few scenes it becomes obvious that Dany has gone mad with power like her da, and the whole thing ends as it began.

this season in a nutshell

aye, they clearly tried to suggest that they were stuck there for days rather than hours

just the way it was edited with nothing else happening in between made it seem like it happened within about 30 minutes

No one notice this then?

random Q for book wankers: how did Gior Mormont end up in the nights watch?

Yeah @anon30627475 I think this is the key: we’ve seen twice already (the taking of Casterly Rock and the original finding of the note by Arya) that the showrunners are more concerned with giving the audience a ‘twist’ than making it sit correctly in the world of the story.

So it could easily turn out to be some massive game for Littlefinger’s benefit the two are playing even though it’s farcical they’d play that game in private like this.

I mean this week we discover that Arya kept the note that Littlefinger hid. I mean what? She’s gone to all that trouble to sneak in there and then she takes it even though you’ve got to assume Littlefinger will check it’s still there every day, right? It’s like basic 101 espionage.
