Idea for a shit internet video:
Old Knight Rider footage of Hasselhoff asking Kitt the car questions and the voice of Mr Feeney is replaced with that of Kit Harrington.

Wrote a rambly rant on a facebook group last night about dany and jon’s relationships to power and realised I’d forgotten how much I actually love her and want the best for her :sob:
I feel like the show/books have done a great job showing how this is rooted in how they were both brought up. The right to rule was basically all Dany and viserys were ever told or talked about. It had been drilled into them so totally that it’s pretty much their reason for living. Jon on the other hand was unaware and brought up as a disenfranchised member of society, so it’s no wonder he’s able to see past power to the people it affects. It’s much easier to relinquish power/access to it if you never thought you had any to begin with.

I remember in dany’s more contemplative book moments, she expresses how she’d love to go back to the small house with the red door in Pentos. I think part of her would quite like to just turn away from it all but she doesn’t know where to even start.

I hold out hope she sees sense and realises absolute power is an empty promise and walks away with her amazing legacy, but I’m also not naive enough to think this would happen lol
Reckon there’s a good chance all those who craved power will die and someone who wasnt fussed will win out. Or, everyone dies and the Night King wins.
One of those. Or neither. Reckon there’s a twist coming no one will have guessed.

tired of this soppy as fuck nonsense about how dany deals with traitors tbh. i know a lot of it is rooted in sexism but it’s also lib shit too. a big part of the reason the US is so fucked in terms of race relations is because at the end of the civil war the traitors there were negotiated with by very clever enlightenment types and reintegrated into the class structure of the union instead of being put up against the wall like lincoln’s advisors wanted. now look what their demon descendants are up to in 2019, because their traitor families were spared and in fact allowed to keep their ill gotten gains.

the reason it’s a bad idea to spare traitors in politics is because while you might be able to forgive them, they’ll never forgive themselves, and they’ll always be prone to fucking you over again because of it. plus there’ll be a bunch of other assholes who see what you can get away with if you squirt a few crocodile tears when you get caught. no! gulag them! burn them all! cast them into the sea!

The Ringer’s weekly Ask the Maester column is good for people with questions about the lore / background, gives a lot of easily accessible book wanker knowledge:

Gendry really reminds me of the Paddy Considine character in Dead Mans Shoes when he get all worked up. This is a good thing.
