took the witcher 3 for a spin on my new bigger tv, just

I realise I’m massively behind but I picked up a Psvr, Astrobot completely blew me away, made me smile at gaming in a way I haven’t done since trying a 3d game for the first time in the 90s.
Slowly building up to starting Resident Evil VII. I’ve somehow never played a RE game but always meant to get round to it, especially REmake and RE4. Most of them seem to be on sale on the PStore, will I enjoy the earlier entries less if I start with 7?

It’s a little different, being in first person and playing things a bit straighter. No other game’s made me have to just hold on for a bit to find the courage to open a door or go down some stairs before! The other Resident Evil games are a bit sillier, but they all have inventory management (my favourite part of the series!) and too many eyeballs on things. From the fourth one on they became quite action-focused. In terms of story I think seven is a bit of an outlier so it wouldn’t spoil things too much playing it (from what I remember anyway).

played the ‘cube world’ beta for all of 20 minutes and rage quit after dying in the starter village 4 times. fuck bees.

i backed the alpha six years ago. it was one of the first games i remember seeing on steam greenlight.

think i’ll wait a bit longer to see how this one pans out.

When the beta happened consensus seemed to be the basic mechanics were fairly decent, but much like animal crossing on mobile it was monetised to take every ounce of fun out.

Haven’t seen any reviews of the final version.

The monetisation of Animal Crossing was hugely overstated in the press according to my wife - she’s not spent a penny on it and has probably played it for nearly as long as any of the 4 proper AC games (which is to say she’s put in a lot of hours).

Currently playing four different RPGs at the same time (Etrian Odyssey IV, Chrono Trigger, Mother 3 and Dragonball Z: Attack of the Saiyans WHICH IS GREAT) - usually a recipe for disaster. I forget the specifics of each one if I’m spread a bit thinly, and without knowledge of all the ins and outs you can’t get past the big bosses.

Had this trouble a while ago when I was stuck in three different Zeldas at once - is there a term for this? Hyper-ludic congestion or something

Ur crazy

I still am in a way. It’s all relative innit

I love this

PSVR is great. You must also get Wipeout, Tetris Effect and Moss.

You should be fine starting with 7. I more or less did (only having played a few of the previous ones before, and in any particular order).

7 is kind of a reboot of the first one in some respects anyway, and as others have said, takes a somewhat different tonal direction.

You’re a braver person than I am to play VR horror.

Not had the stomach to start it yet :grimacing:

Kicking the teeth out of that big Ape in Astrobot were enough.

Fucking hell life is strange 2

Dont make a game that lis based around exploring and then make one random item you look at be the one that progresses you beyond the room you hadn’t finished exploring yet

Also my replay didn’t ask me how I ended LiS1 this time and it landed me with the psychopath ending

Are you sure you weren’t playing The Stanley Parable by mistake?
