Frozen Wilds was (obviously) more compact than the full game and I think it was more fun as a result.

I just found the whole thing too humourless to enjoy it much. Maybe I spent too long doing side missions and roaming the environment but I had a much better time doing that in Fallout 4 or Witcher 3.

@nav don’t know if you are still interested in this, but I just picked it up from eBay for £32 with a code they have on at the moment - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-PS4-BRAND-NEW-AND-SEALED-IN-STOCK-QUICK-DISPATCH/383742504539?epid=9040352607&hash=item5958d5ee5b:g:uxMAAOSwHvdfR4dl

Nice! that’s my kinda price

I really want to buy a gaming pc. Probably about 700 ish for the tower. Its an incredibly daunting prospect I must say. Almost an impossible decision.

You could go second hand and get an alright rig for that much, that’s what I did

November is gonna be a bit mad. Like early 2017 all over again. Spider-Man, Yakuza 7, and Cyberpunk for me.

Hoping Star Wars Shooty Ships and Mario will see me through to Cyberpunk. If not I’ve still got another Fire Emblem playthrough in me, I think.

Maybe Watch Dogs Legion, too. Also Cloudpunk being released on Switch.

So relieved Mass Effect got delayed

Finished RDR2. Feel like I’ve been at it for years.

Me and you both Ms. Adler, me and you both.

Sadie is so fucking great.

The advantage of the absurdly rambling length of the game is that it imbues some of the characters’ arcs with pathos and believability, and Sadie is one of them. The bit where she admits to Arthur that she’s become a monster and that’s all she can ever be now is really affecting.

Is that where if you play on high honour she says “Aside from my Jake, you’re the best man I’ve known”? Absolutely bawled I did.

Started Neir Automata, I’m excited to see how far off the deep end it goes.

Played the Titanfall 2 campaign, was fun but not any better than the similar COD game for me. Movement and combat seemed weirdly disconnected.

Finally got sick of the PS4 being so loud, and took it apart. Cleaned it out (a quarter of the heat sink was blocked up and gross) and replaced the thermal paste. This is how the original thermal paste looked after just 2 years:

Now it is so much quieter it’s beyond a night and day difference. It’s better than when it was new, which is kind if bizarre. Half an hour of TLOU2 and I could barely hear it, whereas before, just loading up the game caused the fan to go full speed. Would recommend anyone bothered by their PS4 noise to do this. Wish I’d done it immediately tbh. Annoyed they cut a corner in these older units, considering paste is cheap.

Might?

this is the kind of thing that I should probably do, but won’t as I’m convinced I’d break my PS4 doing it. even though I’ve swapped the hard drive in it before and built my own PC. makes no sense, yet here I am.

Oh fuck, Baldur’s Gate 3 is out a week today.

I’m going to need to switch to 26 hour days.

Disco Elysium is a cosily fun game rn

Feel like I’m close to the end atm
