94gb??? What the actual, is this what games are like these days

Biggggg AAA games with online components, yes. And stuff like FF7 Remake and RDR2. The ones with the very fancy open worlds and realistic graphics.

The average current gen title is about 30 GB, though.

Is the first boss in Control ridiculously hard or am I missing something obvious?

Use the cover a lot, I remember finding it tough, pop out and use the throw move. Combat gets better when they add more powers.

Just beaten him minutes after posting. For some reason, some attempts would have LOADS of enemies spawning and getting in the way. this time was more manageable!

Stopped playing ‘Skyrim’ this morning. Had a feeling I could go on for a lot longer playing it but I’d be verging on obsessive behavior.

Really enjoyed my time playing it though. Loved exploring all the Dwemer ruins and Nordic temples, really enjoyed how all the townsfolk interacted and all the smaller quests you’d find in settlements in out of the way places.

Shoutout to my main Khajit J’Zargo for watching my back. Was always worried someone was going to kill him but he hung on in there. Having him and a magical mudcrab by my side made the game loads of fun.

J’Zargo is handy because he’d electrocute any cunt around. Very handy for flying and floating beasts like ice wraiths because I couldn’t be fucked using magic myself.

Contemplated using someone else but I had bonded with him and it was too late to really take anyone else.

Intrigued by that leaked build of Gears of War 3 on PS3. Nice bit of games history.

i got this dank owl pet but the wing flapping sounds and screaches it makes are really annoying so now i have to disable sound effects while i’m in my hideout. it’s like having zombies all over again. fml

Didn’t report back on XCops: Snakeporn Squad did I.

I get the impression that it was originally intended to be a mobile-only gapfiller then Firaxis decided it was worth fleshing out into a modestly sized regular game, and… I think they made the right call on that, actually. The consolidated turn sequence makes it completely different from regular XCom, requiring you to shut down specific enemies before they can act, take defensive moves etc. rather than alpha striking all the time. Getting past later levels requires working out all the fun little combos you can set off between the various characters. There’s a good gradiant in the difficulty levels, although there’s a couple of characters that trivialise the entire thing if you set them up right (looking at you Blueblood). It feels like they’re testing out new ideas with the tried-and-proven formula, and that’s always good to see.

Downsides: It’s very buggy, and I’m pretty pissed off Firaxis haven’t released a patch to fix the numerous game-ending crashes weeks after release. The dialogue is hilariously bad, and I hope to God they don’t think that fixed characters as your soldiers is the way forward after this because I do not want to hear any more shite from writers who clearly would rather be working on an Netflick called something like So That Happened.

Ultimately for 8 quid I feel I more than got my money worth. Recommended if you see it on sale.

I’ve been waiting for EA to ruin the C&C remasters but the good news keeps on coming. Full mod support & open source !!!
