Genuinely considering picking up an Xbox One S (All Digital Edition) to take advantage of Game Pass. Amazon currently have them going for £164.99, which seems like a reasonable price. Can anyone confirm that this isn’t an absolutely outrageous idea?

£164 for a console with 100 games seems like a steal to me

Here is a list of games currently on it https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-game-pass/games

Couldn’t figure out how to cancel my PS Now for another month, but I saw they’ve got HZD on there and my physical copy has been at my pal’s for almost a year so I might play it again

Really struggling to give a shit with Fallout 4, and went back to playing Witcher 3 side quests over Christmas. I think I’ve realised that strong characters are the thing that keeps me interested in a game. The titles I’ve given up on are those where the protagonist is just an avatar for the player so doesn’t have much of a personality. Fallout falls into this category for me so I don’t think I’ll stick with it despite the scope being amazing.

With that in mind does anyone have any recommendations for games that have really good characters/stories? Is… is Death Stranding one of these games?!

I mean you’ve started with literally two of the best games ever made…

God of war was good character wise.

tried forbidden siren again but it’s too fucking nails and the combat is a joke. didn’t think they would actually make you rely on it too much but nope, i was wrong. might skip to the next game in the series and hope its improved.

how did you get on with spiderman? been a while since I played it so I’ve mostly forgotten the story but I think it was pretty good?

It’s the best deal out there. I got one this time last year, and now I’ve got a backlog of games just from game pass.

I’ve only actually bought 2 games, both of them bundled with it

Tried to finish this multiple times but never could. Love the aesthetic though.

Edit: Nevermind, I’m talking about Blood Curse, think you’re talking about the original.

Edit 2: I don’t remember the original as much but I imagine it being really dated and not in good ways.

yep, the ps2 one. will give blood curse a go instead. it’s got a cool concept and it’s fun when it works but there’s just too many barriers to it being enjoyable to play. h2h combat is laughable.

Haha, YES! I have. But I played G-Police with the early, not very good Analog controller prior to Dual Shock and WipEout 2097 with the Namco NeGcon for the first few days. Madness…

Ah I’ve not started that yet!

Was going to suggest Spider-man. It made me feel more for Peter Parker than any of the films ever did.

I really love the original’s atmosphere, and the fact that it’s a weird game in the real alienating, unique, beautifully ambiguous sense of the word. BUT yeah, the punishing difficulty absolutely ruined my attempt to play it as an adult.

I remember one level as a teenager: to complete one of the secondary objectives that you need to complete to progress with the game, you’re on a timer and there’s literally one way you can do everything you need to do within the limit. Nah, mate.

I remember you really rating Spider-Man.

Shame I won’t have time for it before Cyberpunk and that Samurai one I read about in the Guardian today.

They just added gta 5 if u haven’t played it

Don’t understand why so many people had a problem with this. Easily the most playable FPS I’ve played on pretty much any platform.
