All or the rebooted TR games are great. Shadow gets a lot of stick for its story but the gameplay is as good as or better than rise.

I don’t get why people don’t like them more either. Lots to love.

Shadows had good tombs. Thought it handled worse in the moment 2 moment gameplay

Hi all, don’t let the Dark Souls people know but I’m playing Subnautica for, well, a bit of light relief if I’m honest.

I keep getting hit by fish blowing up or poked by other big fish - am I mean to be able to attack them early on or just run away? I tried to parrying and backstabing to no avail.

Casual

Beginning to properly click with Nier Automata now. I didn’t realise I could level up and the first real boss is finally down. I really like the style of the game, probably will stick with it but also damn tempted to go in on a day one Resident Evil mainline game for the first time since RE4.

Even the good reviews of VIIIage make it sound shiiiite. RE4 with werewolves but in first person. Great.

It has a giant vampire lady who will step on you though, so a healthy return is guaranteed.

I’m enjoying Dishonoured… especially the world building. Arkane are really good at this stuff. As with all stealth games it’s not very satisfying, after spending 10 minutes skulking in the shadows, being spotted and ending up with a pile of bodies at your feet. I am bad at stealth games so this happens a lot.

Superhot: Mind Control Delete is not a patch on the first game. I’m good at the game so quickly dispatch the first three spawned enemies than have to wiggle around a bit to spawn a few more which is quite annoying. Carefully planned levels where waaaay more satisfying than roguelite.

This looks really good. Quite staggering how fast SEGA have gotten at making new Yakuza / Judgment games…

Even on ps5 resident evil village is cheap. £40 in tesco (clubcard discount). Too skint just now for it and I’ve got too many other games on my plate.

You can get it down to £35 with this discount code

This to me sounds good.

I have purchased it, not played it yet though, will look at it at midnight.

I quite like Resident Evil so far when it let’s you play, but it seems to be mostly cutscenes of terrible things happening to the main character.

Going to try and stream Resident Evil Village (8), base PS4.

Can’t make the link work, first post in the Dark Souls thread should work though if any interest.

It’s really hammy and nicely threatening. Although in first person it really evokes the feel of RE4 somehow.

Enjoying Village a lot, even though I don’t really like RE4 and prefer these games to have less action. It has been very satisfying and it looks amazing too (playing on PC), and I’m spending a lot of time looking over details in small rooms during the quieter bits. Also I tried playing it on hardcore mode and had to restart, those opening fights are brutal!

Seems like Danny O’Dwyer is going to be taking a more prominent role at Giantbomb but it hasnt been confirmed - this is nice news.
