So I’m just about to start divinity 2 original sin. Never played it (or number 1)before… Any words of advice?

Play it on the easiest setting.

Played a bit of that Doom Eternal there (it’s on Game Pass). Nice and fluid and I’m sure you kids who are into these things will get a lot out of it, but fucking hell, I feel a bit sick and in need of a lie down and a cup of chamomile tea.

Get yourself to the thread!

Am playing through it again now (platinum run). It’s just so good.

About 8 hours into the OG Kotor on Xbox. It’s good innit.

So, so good. Keep thinking about a replay but sort of holding out for a remaster or something. Will be interested to hear what this is.

Don’t play it on tactician, but the difficulty one down from that. The game is not uber hard, but you’ll die a fair bit in combat. A lot of the time this will be down to positioning and strategy rather than being underpowered, so persevere.

Specialise with your characters. There’s no point in having a team of well rounded jacks of all trades. You want people with specific strengths.

Use archers and always get the high ground, they become super powerful about halfway through.

Always strip away physical armour and use attacks that knock enemies down. If you can keep their biggest hitters down then that’s half the battle.

Also speak to and do everything, it’s great to experiment and the narration is hella funny so there’s always something to find

Make me feel like I’m rushing through it ere (it’s another one of those where there are some surprising little bits I remember that streamline exploration a bit haha)

Yeah it’s great. Lots of bits are. A few frustrating elements, and the “you can leap six feet over this thing but not two foot over this thing” linear setting took me out of the game sometimes, but I really enjoyed it as a whole

To be honest, I spent ages going back to pick up runes and explore bits I didn’t really need to. I also make a habit of taking guards down even if it’d be easier to just dodge them, so I could definitely have done it quicker.

Playing Dishonoured has reminded me of my favourite Thief 3 memory from back in the secondary school days. I wasn’t there to witness it sadly, but my friend perfectly timed throwing some cheese at a guard to generate the following flavour text interruption:

“I’ll find you, you taffing… CHEEEEESE!?!”

Beautiful.

Good memories of my pal’s original XBox.

Also of throwing nut shells in the fireplace

His mother didn’t approve of that

Sorry

Don’t do this.

Finished the “main story” of Dragon Quest XI…then I am gathering that the story is not over? This will never end.

Anyway, feels like they kept the difficulty to the this post game as hoo boy some of these bosses are kicking my arse, real step up from the rest of the game. Enjoying knowing there is loads more to do, hoping I don’t burn out before finishing the story.

I’m playing FFVII (original) again and, I don’t know how many times I’ve played it but this bit of dialogue remains so fucking funny to me given what it comes directly after.

So Metal Gear Solid 4 takes a strangely relevant turn with FOXDIE if you play it during a pandemic…

Wasteland 3 is incredible

Original fallout exploration crossed with xcom, with brilliant writing, great characters, deep rpg progression and excellent voice acting.

It’s a real cracker

Tone of that game is my favourite thing. Light comedy, cosmic horror, and absolute earnestness - gotta love it
