Sounds like the campaign/progression has had the biggest overhaul from 5 (theyvre brought back the wristband system). I know you start off simply as a tourist and not a known racer this time around

The map seems great - he was bouncing between 5 and 6 during the playtest and he says Mexico is kinda hard to go back to after experiencing Japan

Theyve added pokemon to no mans sky

Ever played Mother 3? Better than any book I’ve read in the past 10 years. If you don’t feel like faffing around with emulators I have it as a repro cart which can be plugged into a regular GBA.

I played through the trilogy nearly a decade ago. There IS a really good, layered overarching storyline that is unfortunately diminished by wacky anime comedy bullshit and, yeah, really problematic portrayals.

I would recommend playing through at least 1 and 2 (3 ruined the whole series for me) but I wouldn’t blame you for packing it in due to the aforementioned portrayals as they really don’t get any better.

Very odd series.

Honestly wouldn’t take that much to fix what I’ve seen so far, but you just know with the kinda fanbase this sort of thing attracts it’d be more trouble than it’s worth.

Definitely not packing it in as I’m curious to see where it goes, but less sure about buying 2 or 3 now.

Excited to see what variety of JDM cars will be available. I’m also assuming there will be lots of user-made hentai-themed designs for each car.

Watching the Mrs play Pokopia is a rare moment I enjoy watching someone else gaming

Keep watching Crimson Desert videos on YT. Those who have it - is it clunky? Seems to be lots of control and elements…but it looks fun!

Fallen into a FIFA 25 seasons well in the last few days. I pine for Pro Evo to return properly but it is pretty good.

I always go a pretty average team which gives me the moral high ground but it can get frustrating playing against the same teams over and over with the same superhuman players who can do ridiculous dribbles and score from positions they’ve really not earned.

Was so gratifying to play against someone last night who had chosen chesterfield after having played Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern and Argentina. It was my final game of the season and got me promoted up a league (higher than I’ve been previously) when I won.

It’s mostly because there are a shitload of commands they had to fit into a single controller. So there is more friction and quirks in the controls than most modern games and that being coupled to a RDR2 style ā€˜grounded’ feeling led to a lot of complaints at the start.

They have patched things though and once you’re used to it, it feels pretty good IMO.

Been chipping away at Liberty City Stories on PS2 over the last year or so. One thing that impresses me about it is how unforgiving it is in painting its characters as these hopeless, pathetic losers who are rewarded pretty much nothing for their crimes. Weird little game.

Yes to all of that. Yes it’s clunky, yes there are a lot of controls and elements but yes it is also a lot of fun despite that. I do need to keep checking the help files for what button combination are needed for specific things that I learned 6 hours ago and then didn’t need again until now.

I’m only really just discovering what you can do in the game (a little over 18h in it so far) but there are so many really nice random things you can do in the game. I am currently loving taking on enemy encampments and going all WWE and ā€œstone cold stunningā€ them all into the ground whilst simultaneously becoming the greatest cat burglar the world has ever seen whenever I go into the main town.

Elden Ring remains Brutally Difficult, but it’s also utterly amazing. I am so hooked

TBH, at the minute it feels like the biggest issue I’m having is the PS5 pad itself. I really don’t think I like it very much. It feels so heavy and unwieldy compared to my Switch 1 and 2 Pro pads; the stick and button placement is weird, the lack of customisable back buttons sucks now that i am used to such a thing, the option button is too close to the big flat pad button thing and that feels kinda cheap and clunky. I get sore and numb hands after a couple of hours play, and that’s never been a problem with the switch pads. Hopefully I’ll get used to it, but the pad is definitely the main thing I’m leery about in my PS5 adventure thus far (I also find the console UI rather obtuse and convoluted, but again, I’ll get used to it)
