how much is this worth do we reckon?

This is a good deal isnt it? God help me

I’d say about £800? It’s just an American Strat in a slightly rare colour, really.

I have a vs880 expanded in a really nice matching Roland moulded shell case. Don’t think I’ve used it since 2005

It only has 45 mins worth of 8-track disc space. It’s not worth much

Yeah, I was going to say maybe £900 tops.

Oof. Back to drawing board

What is it that you’re looking to do?

“Guitar body shapes may perhaps function as trademarks for a tiny club of expert and discerning guitarists, but not for the average amateur, who is the relevant public in assessing distinctive character in this case.”

probably not true is it, most people buying a guitar will know who’s shapes are whose

I’d like to make disco type tunes. Basically just want to have fun. I’ve tried FL but I don’t find it intuitive.

Would like to do stuff without a computer but I understand that will be hard. Main question is how to link synths together with which bloody cables ect.

I’m doing the no computer thing - everything’s recorded to tape

Its all started coming together since I got my Digitakt - being able to sequence everything from a single box is so much easier than having each synth or drum machine sequencing itself

What kind of disco ? And what gear do you already own?

I literally own a Volca Beats and a Yamaha VSS30 I got for £3 when I was 16. Looking at getting a volca bass or the Beringer crave next just as a starting point.

Been using garageband for ages so I have some concept of what’s going on.

Not sure how deep in to get rn because I could spend loads on whatever bits I want ATM, but without knowing if this is a serious hobby that is probably a bad idea

So what sort of disco then?

Whatever flavour, may I HIGHLY recommended this Patrick Cowley mix

Haha apologies, italo Disco is my jam atm. Completely in love with it!

Italo eh?

Keep your eye out on used listings for one of these

Saw one a little while ago for approx £250 but someone else got there first

Thought there was a slightly funny smell while I was playing guitar yesterday but ignored it in the basis that if I see smoke then I’ll know something’s up.

Turned out I had accidentally used an 18V power line for my Klon clone and it’s now a bit… fried. Whoops. Didn’t really like it anyway so now I’ve got an excuse to get a better one!

always liked the EHX soul food Klon clone, dont know how it compares to others though, was going to get this one at one point

stumbled across a great gothgaze lead sound in the ol’helix, rat distortion, bubble vibrato (boss copy) and glitz reverb (based on the strymon bloom setting), works really well, think vibrato works better than chorus after drive, less mushy. just been endlessly noodling away over a minimal drums and synth from my jdxi. going to start a one man goth band, I have the face for it
