Do a Yngwie, buy a load of old Strats, mod them to bits and then make a video of you chucking them about.

Not sure I’m in the right mental state for malmsteen and his fockin fury this evening

found have slow phaser and a tremolo about 4 times as quick gives a really nice univibe type effect

Tremolo pedal recommendations? My cheapo Belcat one sounds fine but it’s too noisy. Would prefer to not pay Strymon money for one.

I had a carl martin surf trem, was quite good for a classic fender tremolo sound, also had a sonnus voluum which had expression pedal controlled dual lfo craziness, and as ever i’d recommend an old line 6 m5 as it has a variety of decent options including the one based on the goatkeeper which is amazing

Massive fan of my moog minifooger trem. Think it was about £120 about 4 years ago. Might be a bit more expensive now.

i’ve got a similar effect in my helix (2 in fact) but it is based on the original that had 4 stages rather than two, really like it, like an alternative to strumming, just hit a chord and let it chop it up, also good for a bit of randomness, use it with my freqout pedal and it gives it a natural sounding waivering. my only complaint is that it has to have 4 stages, and it has to be synced because it is such a percusive sound, but I play mainly in 3/4 or 6/8 so it doesnt work well for that

I am all about the rhythmic chop chop at the moment!

I like a lot of the malekko stuff tho.!

Need more money

scratch that, I am totally getting this

swap the neck with the mini jazmaster and then I have a bonus mini strat in shell pink (think the maple neck will suit it better)

ordered, that is 3 guitars in one month, feels a bit excessive

What’s that slide bit in the heavy bit running through? That’s a really nice sound. And that is a slide right?

this has been my thought for ages…

Love this

Not sure of the protocol here guys, there’s a discussion of radiohead including some pointed criticism, what is the process for altering the rest of the boards?

Thanks! Yeah it’s a (glass) slide. Tele on middle or bridge pickup, Earthquaker Westwood overdrive with the gain at about 2 o’clock, and a bit of delay from the TC electronic Flashback. Would have been the analog or echo setting, can’t remember. Pretty sure the amp I used is the Egnater Tweaker pretending to be a Fender. Spring reverb from the JHS Spring Tank.

I should probably start taking notes about these sounds so I can reproduce them.

Catlinbread semaphore w/TT used to be the best 10 or so years ago. Not sure if trem technology has changed since I was into pedals.

I have the boss and it’s good - trem is just volume wobble so I don’t see much benefit in a spendy one BUT if I was getting one now I would get one that does harmonic trem too. I would get the walrus one. Not Strymon money but not exactly cheap

The Pale Spectre I happen to be selling has a good trem function. No volume loss, which is nice. Can’t sync it though. It’s not its main function so I’m not sure I’d recommend it, but on the other hand I really want the money for a Walrus Slo pedal, so I would absolutely recommend it.
