Just watched a video where someone used an Intellijel Quadrax (notionally a four-channel envelope generator) as a self-modulating oscillator and anyway I had some Andertons loyalty points and now I don’t and there’s a Quadrax on the way.

Please somebody who understands the economy help me my family are starving

I’m actually doing pretty well in terms of density of stuff, I think - about the only thing I feel I’m “missing” is an in-case CV/pitch sequencer, but I’ve got a whole bunch of external sequencers kicking about, most of which also do CV/gate so it’s harder to justify unless it does something more than they do. And the Pam’s with S&H and quantiser gets me a whole load of random and algorithmic pitch sequences.

Yeah this little Boss recorder is an absolute game changer, I absolutely love it, just the perfect amount of simplicity while being able to do everything you need to make demo-level stuff, so so good

Interesting little thing. Are the drums recorded live or are they from the DR-80?

Anybody have a non-expensive baritone guitar they would recommend? Or any thoughts in general on baritones?

The drums are recorded live, using the internal mics on the BR-80 — I just popped it on a music stand maybe 1.5m in front of the kit, plugged in my headphones for monitoring and went for it. Obviously the drum mix isn’t perfect but it’s plenty good enough.

I discovered last night it’s even got some vocal effects built in, which are perfectly serviceable — the doubler actually gave me some decent multitracked vocals

Anyone ever tried their hand at any data sonification stuff and got any hints and tips for starting out? I’m quite keen to give it a try.

Aiming to generate some CV to play back via my Bastl Granpa DC coupled sample player.

Pretty guitars these imo even if the name makes you sound like a Bristolian pronouncing ‘tornado’.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but Renoise (a tracker app) just added live-coding support, which is cool: Renoise 3.5 is huge: phrase scripting, tuning support, splitter effect, more - CDM Create Digital Music

But what’s even cooler is the live coding environment is also available as a web app, so you can dick around writing your own generative sequences:

Ah, it isn’t a real amp; it’s a Kemper. The amp was a fancy Friedman plexi thing that I could never afford!

I use stainless steel 11s that add to the clang!

I think the sort of tone I go after is totally not for most people, but having said that, it is very, very easy to mix. So worth a thought if you aren’t clang-allergic!
