The TV has got me watching America’s Next Top Model with her. Actually quite entertaining.

Really liked this whole series. The final 3 episodes were excellent, particularly the last scene with Tahar Rahim who is just a phenomenal actor. Nice to see filmmakers being really open about their message too, they didn’t shy away from saying who they believed to be at fault. Didn’t know anything about John O’Neil either and had wondered why it had focused so much on him. Brilliant.

i’m gonna start watching Crime Stories in America: The Day Fashion Designer Gianna Versace Died

any good?

Have you read the book? Just wondering if you think it’s a bad adaptation or aren’t that into the basic premise.

i haven’t read the book and thought the premise sounded interesting enough for me to want to check it out, but it’s the execution i guess. the general BBC crapness of the whole exercise. would probably be a decent crack if it was a netflix production or something.

Damn shame to hear, only 4 eps so I’ll watch it anyway but I had high hopes …

Yeah I liked the book but watched the first episode and doubt I’ll watch anymore…

found some of the stuff in the last episode in particular just unbelievable (it’s true obviously but you know what i mean), like how obstructive diane marsh was when called in front of the enquiry panel in 2004

it’s good - as long as you are cool with the fact it is 90% about the killer and only 10% about Versace

i really enjoyed the OJ one even though (or maybe because) it was completely ridiculous

so did i

this is less ridiculous

It’s very much a series of 2 halves - the Versace family stuff is all a bit daft and similar to the OJ ones. But the stuff with the killer (i.e. most of it) is very well done - I didn’t know anything about his story and it is all pretty fucked up. The guy playing him is good

I didn’t clock it was him for a fair while

Any love for Cunk on Britain? Keep trying to work out how much the experts know about Cunk in advance and her questions. I guess they must know it’s a spoof and are playing along? But are told to play it straight? It manages to be less cringe that Ali G used to be at least.

wow, the first episode was great. the guy playing cunanan is fantastic.

this relieves me - you are a hard man to please Eric

saw an interview with her where she said she talks to them for a couple of hours so she’s able to get them comfortable asking them normal stuff before slipping in the batshit questions. I’d expect some of them are aware of her and are just happily playing along, but there are others that seem genuinely a bit annoyed with her questions (the guy she was asking the star wars questions to last week for example)

see what you meant by this now, i’m on episode 6 and it is getting a bit bogged down tbh. because there was no trial for obvious reasons it doesn’t quite work as well as the first season, not sure why i need to know quite so much about this really horrific person’s life.

I find his story grimly compelling TBH. Episode 8is excellent.

I have 1 more to watch - not sure if it’s on the iPlayer or not yet

“We’re so in sync we can finish each other’s-” “DEREK!”
