I mentioned this in the Bird thread, but an unexpected consequence of the heat was having to usher a swift out from our bedroom, back through the open window.

You don’t get that in January.

I am not a fan of this heat, but winter is pretty miserable and isolating. The lack of daylight in winter is a real kicker.

We’re out and about way more in summer, and it seems like other people are as well. Not least the nice sheep and cows and goats and rabbits and ducks in the field near our house. Don’t get to hang out with them in winter. I petted two cows yesterday.

No chance. Too cold - easier to warm up in and cosy way to do it

Too hot - just broken into a sweat going to the kitchen
