Freedom is one hell of a song. I’m old enough to remember when it came out. Brilliant track. He went to my old high school too. We’ve lost one of ours. Brilliant talent. Huge loss.

I’m dancing around at my flat alone like a drunken idiot to Freedom and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. I’m having fun. Such a sad loss but such an amazing back catalogue of songs for us to enjoy.

Poor guy. Had a lot more talent than people gave him credit for imho, despite having some pretty widespread recognition as it is. All the same I can’t help thinking there’s something odd and maybe macabre about dying on Christmas day after writing such a widely popular and long standing Christmas tune. It’s like something from a novel. Oh well.
