Getting Snowed in at the Highest Pub in England

Inside the North Yorkshire pub where 23 guests are snowed in | The Northern Echo

These people 100% engineer this situation so they can 1) sit in a pub for a few days, 2) be on a cutesy news story. So avoidable.

I bet it’s absolute hell n all.

(Been to the pub (in summer). It’s ok.)

Getting high at the most snowed in pub in England

Posted this elsewhere but the Guardian have milked four pieces out of this in the last two days

I assume half the people there this time were journalists tbh

My ATDs nearly had this happen to them by accident last year. They went wild swimming in a little pond near there, only one of them got in, and got out extremely quickly, and then they decided to find somewhere for a pint. The people in them told them they were expecting to be snowed in (and yes, loads of them travelled up there on purpose), and at first they thought it sounded fun, but after a bit decided some of the people had a “bad vibe” so they left.

Hang on, no this isn’t the pub they were at. This one is Richmond, the one they were in was Saddleworth

Stuff like this really makes you understand how Scott of the Antarctic must have been feeling at the end.

Is it still a Black Sheep pub?

Trapped in a pub is the dream in someways however, do they uphold licensing rules or does it just become a free for all come 11? Plus this place does seem to attract massive wankers in the winter.

Surprised to learn that Scotland doesn’t have a higher one

I heard Eating With Tod is there.

Too far and it’s outside London, he only goes as far as Manchester.

what’s that dickhead pub in scotland that has no road going to it so you have to hike or get a boat?

Which pub pub in Saddleworth do you know?

Jealous of everyone in there

There’s one in the middle of the Norfolk Broads that is only accessible by train and/or a long walk but looks like it closed down.

People in Saddleworth giving off bad vibes, I for one am shocked. Well not that shocked depending on the pub.

I don’t know, they said it was remote somewhere and it was in the news a couple of days later for them all being snowed in and entertaining themselves.

At a guess probably Rams Head is the only one that’s left that I would class as remote in Saddleworth now most of the old ones have sadly gone, but when it gets bad up there even Kings Arms feels remote.
