Shame. Should still be a good stage though - pretty much an uphill start.

Last few days have seen some decent racing. Now Nibali’s got to try and gain more time and Roglic will want to get closer to Carapaz before the ITT.

Unzue reckons Carapaz needs another minute yet, and they have the old 1-2 to play. Still think Roglic is safe, but riding it closer than he might. Mechanical aside, nibali hasn’t ridden any time into him though.

Was surprised to hear that movistar purposely up the pace when Roglic had his crash. Makes a change from the bland tactics of previous years.

It is a bit shocking to see Movistar in such a strong position. Chapeau to Carapaz, who’s made the most of Roglic/Nibali’s conservative riding.

should be quite a few decent climbers effectively out of the GC (Yates; Lopez; Carthy etc) going for a stage win this week too. Looking forward to the attacks.
