Giving Thanks (Thanksgiving)

You get a day off, but Big Society says you have to spend it (and take several more days of your already extremely limited personal holiday) with your family. You in?

  • I’m giving thanks for the extra day of holiday and my family!
  • I’m thankful I don’t have to conform to this kind of societal pressure and am happy just to have a normal Thursday

  • I work in a business or industry in which our capitalist hellscape means that this week is a nightmare, will have to work long hours and extra over the weekend and the only thing I’ll be thankful for is when it is all over

The best thing about Thanksgiving, from a British point of view, is the surge in posts on Am I The Asshole? forums.

Oh I forgot the other option:

  • I work for an American company but outside of America and am thankful that I’ll get four or five straight days without any evening meetings or emails and I’ll get a chance to actually get some shit done/knock off at 5 like I’m supposed to/just slack off for a few days

  • Britain having major Black Friday sales when it doesn’t have Thanksgiving to accompany it is just stupid really
