Radiohead. The Nintendo of music. Loved that so much.

It did definitely start to give out at the end, but it was good for most of the set…

The fuck are some of you watching!? This is bloody brilliant

Are The Flaming Lips past it? Will be really sad if so, but watched the run-through of Yoshimi, and it didn’t grab me at all. I guess they’re 15 years past (one of) their peak(s)…

Does feel a bit like that. Embryonic was a late career peak too. But since then it’s been rapidly downhill.

I think I’d be a bit disappointed if I’d have seen this instead of Radiohead tbh. Not sure I’d have said that at their peak

Not quite in the same league as their previous Glastonbury headline slots (or their Primavera set last year). In fact I’d bet it was probably not even their strongest performance this week, but still bloody excellent and better than 90% of festival headliners at their peak

Probably the best Glastonbury headline performance since at least 2009…

they’ve got Phil Selway, he does really good drums on his solo stuff.

Just seems a waste, really…

Their last one was loads better m9

Was going to say apart from Neil Young but apparently that was 2009. No idea what happened to all of those years…

RH were fucking majestic. Don’t even know how they have managed to just improve this material year on year. Note perfect let down and nude, bloom was huge, creep was great, 2+2=5…like the roundhouse shows x 1000.

Love them.

Maybe? From the armchair I remember Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé being v good. I even thought Metallica was great for what it was.

Would agree with you though that looking back that 2009 trio of headliners was insane - certainly the best of the 21st century if not ever. And to think at the time, given the age I was, I probably would have gone to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs instead (who are a great band and amazing live, but not on the same tier)

Gina Morris can fuck off. Enjoy Ed Sheeran at Glastonbury Gina!

Have the daily mail done their annual critique of the BBC jolly and totalled up what it costs the licence payer yet?

Regardless of the lineup or even what you think of the presenters, the extent of the BBC coverage of this is a brilliant thing.

i think they sounded a bit better in Dublin the other night but that might just be the difference between being there and watching something on TV. the 2003 Glasto set is also massively special for me as watching (and videotaping, and watching a thousand times more) that was what made me properly fall in love with them as a 14 year old and i still think it’s absolutely incredible and perfect sounding, possibly cos they were the first versions i’d heard of most of the songs. tonight was never going to replicate that magic for me but was still fucking great and the best Glastonbury headline slot i’ve seen in a long time (bit gutted they fucked up the end of Airbag though, usually one of their greatest live moments (again possibly cos they opened with it first time i saw them and it was amazing))

even though it’s Glasto i’m surprised they only did two from AMSP, they did 6 in Dublin. makes sense they might want to go a bit more crowdpleasing though and makes sense to go heavy on OKC given the anniversary and reissue. still interesting though that they did loads of HTTT in 2003 and still did more from it than from AMSP tonight. i like Myxomatosis but surprised they went for that over Identikit or Burn The Witch or My Iron Lung. at least it wasn’t The Gloaming. and at least they did some Amnesiac tonight, no Amnesiac is the one disappointment of the 03 set. couldn’t believe they passed up the opportunity to play Pyramid Song on the Pyramid Stage. at least they put that right tonight BUT STILL SOMEHOW DIDN’T MAKE ANY REFERENCE TO IT.

this is a long and rambling post but i’m on a week long Radiohead high.
