It’s a complete pain in the arse to get to from Bristol, Somerset’s roads are dreadful even without traffic.

Also weren’t they openly considering moving the entire thing to Gloucestershire a few years ago?

C’mon are we really doing that Glastonbury is an easy and practical place to get to?! There isn’t a dual-carriageway, train station, or A&E/major hospital for absolutely miles.

It’s literally one of the most impractical places to get to, even though it’s not that far from Bristol. That’s part of the magic, but it seems completely daft to set that all up and drag people through Pilton just for a 1 day thing. There are plenty of other rural locations that are a million times easier to get to. I understand that it’s part of the magic and tradition but I think for one day it just seems like a huge amount of work and effort to basically put on a gig.

Half the posts are you claiming that Glastonbury festival is easy to get to, when I’ve had years when it took me 2 hours to get to the festival from my aunt’s house in… Glastonbury.

Glastonbury is hard to get to if you don’t live near it but is there any point having Glastonbury if it’s not at Glastonbury of course not

I just get the train straight to Glastonbury train station which has direct trains from most major cities. What’s the big deal?
