I only see it when she’s scowling

Oh fuck, just realised that after the Mount Eerie gig on Thursday I have to get a :scream: rail replacement bus :scream: part way home. For ffs, I go to so few gigs a year, why does this have to be on one of the rare days I am doing something? Not sure if I can actually cope with the change of usual routine. Was really looking forward to it.

Might get some Korean. Feel like eating some Korean

Succulent?

Hi all,

We made it through Monday, woo!

 Feeling drained. My elderly friend called this morning in a bit of a state as she’d had a letter about her home insurance. Was planning on seeing her tomorrow as felt too tired but I told her I’d go straight over after work to look at it with her, as I hate her worrying and she works herself up so much over things like this.
As I suspected and had tried to tell her on the phone, it said if she did nothing it would auto renew but there were pages of bumpf that had confused and worried her.
Really feel like companies should send different styles of letter for the elderly, with BIG FONT stating Eg. NO ACTION NEEDED and just generally have some awareness of the fear and anxiety they cause when they send out letters like that willy nilly.

 Had a nice bath with some lovely tangerine exfoliator that smelled delicious.
Dinner was great, mini wholemeal wraps with black bean stew, chicken, pico de gallo, smashed avo with coriander and lime and some lettuce.
Really want ice cream now.
Hoping for an early night tonight, too.

Have a good evening m9s x

Oops sorry for the essay.
Tldr.

Your dinner sounds delicious :yum:

Agree about the letters too, should just do that for everyone as a default so it isn’t on people who need that to be assertive to get as an option (obvs for elderly people I guess they could auto do it by age, but for disabled people it would help - I know I could use much clearer correspondence than most things send)

It really was, felt pretty healthy too

Last year she was in bits because she had several letters over a few weeks and they contradicted each other. One said it would auto renew and then she received another one saying it was cancelled. I called the company and they said they’d fucked up basically and sent that letter in error but they hadn’t bothered following it up  just don’t think they realise/care about the stress their shitty communication causes.

The thing is even after it’s sorted and I’ve explained that it’s all okay, I have to keep reassuring her for a few weeks after as the worrying letter sticks in her mind but the fact its sorted/nothing to actually worry about doesn’t!

Talking to yourself?

I think when you’re older and alone the ability to worry becomes so heightened because you don’t have that immediate friendship group to put your mind at ease and therefore you catastrophise. Thanks for being there for her gnome, you are a gbog x
