Thatās a big statement Bam.
Outsized influence is not a good thing in general. However, itās also a fact of our society. If we reject it on principle and expect those with similar views to ours to do the same then weāll never progress to a more equal society - those who believe in equality that have the potential to influence will be allowing those who donāt believe in those ideals all the power to further neoliberal capitalism.
What I believe we should be doing is striving to work within the current system to ensure that people use their influence responsibility, to break down barriers, to - for example - advocate for equal pay, more stability in the welfare system and use their capital wisely. We should be looking to spread the influence of our principles far wider so we can begin to convince wider society of some of the things we discuss.
