Where bounce in Norfolk u going hun?

Off to Belgium later to run a half marathon tomorrow and hang out with my mate who lives there. Got Mario downloaded for the journey. Can’t wait to drink ALL the delicious beers when the run is over

Camping at Sandringham, from there the world is our oyster.

Very nice! If you need any recommendations etc then let me know - I live about six miles from Sandringham.

Kill two birds with one bike and cycle a Munro

Morning DiS.

I’ve decided I’m still sick so will mainly be reporting from bed again today. Today’s jobs include sleeping, cashing my cheque from the insurance company (I don’t want to leave the house, but I really can’t leave it for another day) and eating lunch.

@ericthefourth There’s a separate thread in this. No coffee or tea for me thanks. I don’t really worry too much about caffeine hits or hot drinks except for the very occasional hot chocolate. I do have a big bottle of ginger Pepsi Max in the fridge for use today though.

Got some whisky tasting tomorrow with some pals in Edinburgh then a family party on Sunday. My liver is going to love me come Monday.

Think I’ll just stay in tonight and have a greet to the new Julien Baker then rinse Stranger Things.

Nice one, cheers. TV used to live Norwich way so we’ve got a few ideas, but would be good to get a recommendation of the best beach/seaside stuff near Sandringham. We have a 3 year old, so child-friendly is a must. Also, good pubs for food.

heading to plant in half an hour to pick up some documents. then home for some parental visiting and then Mario is getting played.

a lot.

In feltham at the fancy show off centre of one of our big vendors, it’s like the future but with bad coffee.

In a mild grump cause mrs stack is winding me up a bit at the moment but it’s nothing too terrible or that a nice weekend won’t fix.

Steely Dan on Sunday, God’s Pee on tues. 'Cited.

My favourites:

  • Wells - gorgeous beach, pretty sheltered (there’s a tree-lined dune behind the beach which acts as a massive windbreak), town is nice to potter around afterwards. There are often half term trails in the woods nearby, and Holkham Hall has some nice gardens
  • Old Hunstanton - again, a nice beach, not much in the village itself but there’s a lifeboat station that your child might be interested in. If you want to explore and the tide permits, there are some cool rockpools around by the cliffs.

Both of the above are vast so there’s plenty of space to roam.

Not a massive fan of Heacham tbh. Hunstanton itself has a certain faded seaside charm to it and has a Sealife Sanctuary which is quite nice if you can find vouchers somewhere (they’re everywhere tbh).

I should add that there are gorgeous beaches all the way from Old Hunstanton to Wells, but these two are a particularly good balance of being family-friendly and still relatively picturesque.

The Rose and Crown in Snettisham is excellent (book ahead though!) as is the Gin Trap in Ringstead. The Feathers in Dersingham is very friendly - slightly cheaper than the above two; the food is good enough. Also if you’re going further around the coast, we’ve discovered the Lifeboat in Thornham (massive fish sandwich for £7). Avoid the Ancient Mariner in Old Hunstanton!

trying to work out if i cba to see godspeed tonight

  • nah, just go to the pub

your twitter post was a serious gut punch in my timeline. not felt rage over something like that for a while.

token, maybe, but is there a chance you could post it to boards/facebook to help find it? surely it’s so specific that it might turn up?

you seen em before? probably worth seeing em once if you’re a fan but good god they’re dull live
