Definitely going to try and get there this year for the first time - there’s a definite thinning out of festivals with half decent (/challenging) line-ups. Particularly as supernormal is having a fallow year.

Tried to get there last year but failed to get any childcare sorted. I now see on the website that there was a melt banana children’s show last year - which would have got me there (with the kids). anyone go? sounds like a great concept.
As does an ex children’s show this year.

Yeah, I kinda feel they pioneered the ‘kid’s gig’ thing. I’m looking forward to mini-myyada coming along so I can go to those shows

oh no fucking way. wow.

Its seriously tempting me

shame the rest of the lineup aint much cop yet. are there any more announcements to come?

Not too sure, I’ve not been Arctangent so don’t know how big it is - I would imagine there is but not a lot

@ericVI I’m not sure if they still do, but they used to have a three channel silent disco, one of which played only The Mars Volta. What more could you need.

First announcement for Sea Change looking very strong, just got my tickets

Has anyone got recommendations for a camping festival in the UK at the end of July/August (teacher summer holiday)?

Houghton Festival looks great but it’s sold out, keeping an eye on Resident Advisor for returns. We’re going to Primavera too so don’t want that much overlap lineup wise, Green Man doesn’t look up to much this year either. Otherwise v open to suggestions.

not got tix yet but probably will go to Best Kept Secret again
not entirely arsed about the headliners but has a strong undercard as usual and a nice lake

Or stay somewhere outside of Utrecht, trains run till very late. I’ll probably be going and head back to Nijmegen afterwards.

Anyone off to Best Kept Secret this weekend? I’ll be reviewing it.

The good weather ends just in time for the festival to begin it looks like, which is as expected.

There are a few more Down The Rabbit Hole tickets going on sale tomorrow morning at 9am (UK time).

Fingers crossed.

Got one! Woop!

Has anyone been to Club to Club in Turin?

Cracking line-up so far. Feeling v tempted especially with not much appealing to me from Le Guess Who.

That looks really good and I was plotting a November holiday…

Booked for this. Going on my own by the looks of it but line up too good to pass up.

How was it?

Just got home. Very good weekend overall, and Turin is lovely. Musically it was great (Aphex reliably great, Skeemask amazing too). Sound was pretty great throughout and the crowd were a lovely bunch. Some nice little touches like everyone getting free bottles of water and a souvenir bag, too.

Some of the organisation could have been better - poorly laid out second stage meant there was loads of space not being used and people having to stand in the middle to hear the music / see anything (a bit similar to the downstairs room at Camber sands), the toilets were all portaloos and got grim very quickly (there were signs to toilets in the venue itself but seemingly not being used) and the security were very over the top. The latter is to be expected at a festival I guess but just seemed like zero chill whatsoever. Also, not to be all brits abroard about it but alcohol sales stopped at 3am which was a bit of a buzz killer for something that went on until 6.

Anyway, moans aside it was a good weekend and I found out at the eleventh hour that a friend of mine was going so I wasn’t alone either. Hurray!
