Like, I’m just so fucking sad to think that two of the characters with the strongest arcs succumbed to the worst aspects of themselves, when they had spent all the books and seasons trying to fight it. I know it’s the kind of nihilism that GRRM favours that means everyone is bad, no happy endings, but, yeah.

Was gonna re-read the books after the season finished but I don’t think I can now. It’s just too depressing not to have any kinda of hope or characters to root for at all.

My atd who is in social work just pointed out

I constantly reassure ppl they have capacity to change/they are not their abusive parents. And the biggest tv show in the world shows them otherwise (Read: Dany should have had a social worker)
