I mean the S4 E10 was a real kick in the teeth for me as a bookwanker. Up until that final 20 mins or so it was still very true to the books. I think it took me until S6 maybe even S7 to get into a mindset of accepting the TV show’s new paths and ideas.

Anyone posted this yet?

Your reminder that most of the time Tom Morello is amazing but sometimes he was in Audioslave.

TBF I quite like that tele!!! : |

I actually watched the first series of this and thought it was average and couldn’t be arsed carrying on

Hehe love the way I actually gave it a chance and everything. As you were.

Because I don’t use the emojis any more?

That post was 100% jovial if that helps?

Just discovered that I work with someone called Rex Knight.

Obviously, that’s an objectively superb name, but:

Rex = King in Latin
King Knight
Knight King
Night King
:astonished:

Turns out he’s not dead - he’s just got a middle management role in the finance department of a higher education institution. Which is basically the same thing tbf. hahahaha.

Always assumed this was because they knew the scope of the major beats and that they couldn’t do those justice if they also tried to do another 4. The complexity of production presumably increases by more than just two thirds.

think this has proven to be massively bullshit

reckon it’s because they’re a couple of hacks who signed up to adapt a book not write an entire show and they know they’re struggling with it and just want it over

that was the best thing about it, it was shocking and horrifying but not really unexpected

Could be.

@cutthelights - I meant in production terms. Whatever the faults in terms of screenplay etc that we’ve raked over, the quality of production is way better than it was even a few series ago - much better CGI, set building, lighting etc. EP5 alone could easily have cost tens of millions and had the scope of a film to plan the production for, and they had to do EP3 as well.

Watched the making of docs for episodes 3&5, staggering amount of work went into the sets and effects, really impressive

I dunno, didn’t HBO offer them the budget to do 10 episodes and they were like ‘nah, we just want to do 6’?

First time I’ve heard this

Thanks for the explanation.

I hope you enjoy the final episode.

people are talking like HBO were going ‘ah fuck this dragon show is costing us a fortune’

it’s the most successful thing they’ve ever done by a distance. i’m sure HBO would have given them another 10 seasons if they wanted it, never mind another couple of episodes

If I were them I would have packed it in the before the final season

and missed the chance to get in all of Euron’s greatest moments??
