Yeah, just admit this isn’t for you mate. The first 3 seasons and ep 1 to 9 of season 4 are the golden period. If you think otherwise you clearly like the stuff that it isn’t really supposed to be all about.

Mmmmmm don’t agree with the prof but don’t like this, sorry. There’s no “correct” way to like something.

Yeah it comes off wrong - sorry @profk - but I mean the show is about diplomacy and chat and shit like that, with the occasional break out of tension, which is what the early seasons do.

I mean saying they’re rubbish is like being into the Twin Peaks episodes with James riding off subplot in S2 of Twin Peaks: it’s cool if you like it but if that’s your idea of the show at its best then Twin Peaks isn’t a show you’ll enjoy much of.

Basically I really don’t understand people who keep bothering with something they don’t much care of just because it’s popular. I just sack that shit off, e.g. Breaking Bad: seen S1, forgot about it after that.

I welcome all opinions about the quality of Game of Thrones.

However the only one that matters is mine

rewatching atm and up to episode 4 of season 2.

The thing that has struck me most is how horrifically awful Ros’s arc is. Really upsetting. Has way more screentime than I remembered and interacts with a huge amount of main characters, and then has the most unceremonious death in the whole series :frowning:

biggest plothole of the series is still how the fuck they got the dragon out the ice. where did the chains come from? where did the team of scuba diving skeletons come from? fucking stupid.

Frasier is a lot darker than I remembered.

S7 is truly a huge bag of stupid which only really keeps attention via OTT action. There isn’t a decent episode in the whole thing

Yeah, the show creators invent a character to give them a load of gratuitous tits’n’exposition options then have to fridge her to preserve the book plot and so decide to go down the torture death route, obviously.

And people wonder why we’re all so suspicious of them running a modern US where the South didn’t lose the civil war TV show?

Yes there is, fields of fire.

The rest was pretty dumb though yeah

There are loads of fun bits in S7 it’s just the characters seem to have completely forgotten how they are supposed to act and frankly shoddy Sharknado level plotting abounds.

Qarth is so… Star Trek TNG isn’t it? Maybe the worst parts of the entire run, except Dorne of course

After about six years I finally unwrapped my copy of this last week, to have a look at the map.

Thought it’d be bigger

Are you saying you think @whiterussian has huge hands because her thumb should have given you some perspective, no? ; )

just thought that by far the ballsiest thing you could do, the actual edgy alternative history, would be to make a show asking what if lincoln had purged the southern aristocracy and accepted marx’s invitation to join the international. only they’d never make it cos it would upset white people.
