I suspect they overpaid on gta v and the radio stations they added like soulwax and blonded meant they have kept overpaying. Taking the piss with a one off of 7500
Oh it’s loaded now.
What a bunch of dicks.
I think they messed up on 5 as they didn’t get unlimited rights on the songs - loads of updates have removed songs from the soundtrack over the years.
The ps2 emulated download of san andreas on ps4 (that’s now delisted if u didnt buy it at the time) removed some tracks too. Annoying
Maybe this will be released on the PS6
Or the PS7
After the first 3 on PS2 which I loved, and Bully, which is their best, GTA4 was when I started souring on Rockstar game design in general. The worlds are fantastic but the gameplay is on-rails shit. Totally removes player agency and you’re just left with a bunch of missions telling you exactly where to go and what to do with no real freedom. RDR2 was the apotheosis of this. Imagine watching a movie, but you have to keep pressing play every few minutes. Even took your guns off you when you got on a horse ffs. If you say any of this elsewhere on the internet you’ll get death threats.
And rightly so
GTA IV was my least fave but I havent played it since so would love for it to have a PS4 or 5 release
Bored now
This series was legitimately my favourite media of 2024. Sublime chaos, Sisyphean suffering, and a single punchline iterated tens of thousands of times.
It’s incredible. It just never stops being funny. About five minutes into every video I’m in tears laughing.

100% agree with this tbh. As someone who finds it impossible (MGS aside) to care about cut scenes and plots in games, I just found it incredibly boring/unengaging as a game. Gave up very early.
Generally find this to be the case for most modern games. Just find the direction ‘gameplay’ has gone in over the last two generations of consoles really uninspiring. So rarely does stuff ever feel fun to control.
Another pet hate is the “fake fall” thing that I associate with Naughty Dog games. Let’s say you need to climb a wall or cross an old bridge or something. Your job is just to push the analogue stick forward, sometimes slightly to the left or right, and watch the character climb/hop towards their goal. Sometimes this is accompanied by the characters doing some info dumping. Then at some point, because the developers know you’re probably getting bored, part of the structure will fall away to create some fake suspense, and your job then is to wait for the animation and dialogue to finish, then continue pushing the analogue stick forward.
This stuff makes me so world weary. Remember how bright the future looked back in PS1 and PS2 days.
Think around gta 3 onwards there were loads more copycat games that were developed that had a different flavour… less realism (far cry, saints row) or a different setting - like yakuza etc; so more fun.
That and they ran out of source material to integrate into their games
I can’t believe, of all the people, @Mert added a year to the title of my thread without permission
Watch the video I posted xylo, you’ll get a few laughs out of it.

RDR2 was one of the best games ever made with one of the most engaging storylines i’ve ever played. Fun game play, a beautiful world to explore with many different tasks to do and a connection to the characters that I haven’t felt in many other games. I took the noble route in the storyline and that scene near the end leading up to and including the scene where Arthur dies had me fucking bawling. Never had that before in game and doubt I ever will again.
A truly astonishing game that deserves every plaudit it gets. You wont get anyone making death threats on here for saying it’s not good, but you will get people judging you as a person ![]()
