OK Computer - Electioneering
Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space - Electricity

Not so much that the songs are terrible (though neither are particularly good), but more that they stand out as clunking, run-of-the-mill tracks in the middle of otherwise well-compiled albums with an identifiable ‘sound’.

It’s certainly the low point but considering the quality elsewhere on the record it’s not necessarily so damning.

I did not know that. Doesn’t make it any less shit though.

I’m sure this has been mentioned before, but ‘The Baby Song’ totally ruins the flow of Hüsker Dü’s Flip Your Wig. What the hell were they thinking of?

I feel sorry for anyone who owned this album on cassette as, at just 47 seconds long, it must have been impossible to fast-forward through it without crashing the next track.

Can never decide if Caroline No (Pet Sounds) is rubbish or not. I think it is but it doesn’t matter.

‘Caroline No’ is ace, ‘Sloop John B’ is the one that slightly lets ‘Pet Sounds’ down. Still a decent tune though.

Enjoy the ludicrousness of Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. If there’s a track I skip on Abbey Road (excluding Her Majesty or whatever at the end) it’s Because just tiresome and boring with all the other energy around.

The Beatles are good for this shit, though: Within You, Without You on Sgt Pepper’s and What Goes On on Rubber Soul.

Prisstina is one of my favourite tracks off One Beat. Maybe my favourite.

I do not disagree. Turgid track. Although when you cue up Disc 2 straight after in a playlist the opening track seems to be designed to follow straight up from it, bridging into Down is the New Up.

One of the best songs on OKC. I think the only bit on the album that tries my patience is the middle of Let Down. The final part has the double vocals and that lifts it again but got, does it have to be 5 minutes long?! It’s probably made worse on later listens by knowing you’re about to get so much energy, pith and darkness from Karma Police, Electioneering and Climbing Up the Walls so it’s a bit weird to have this floaty, dreamy thing dragging.
