Yep

True, but I think George’s guitar work goes some way towards redeeming Octopus’s Garden.

I don’t have to imagine it and now nor do you!

What’s The Story (Morning Glory)? - ‘Hey Now!’

I realise that WTSMG as a ‘great album’ might be a controversial shout but if you can make that leap, Hey Now is a turgid dirge slap bang in the middle of one of the best albums of all time. It’s made all the more egregious by the quality of the B-Sides that Oasis were releasing at the time. Cover versions aside, every single B-Side they released on that cycle is better than Hey Now. Inexplicable.

I don’t even remember that being on the album!

As you say, might be more appropriate to put WTSMG in the terrible albums with one great song category.

forgot this song existed but just put it on and quite like it. getting quite nostalgic.

Wait, what counts as the one great song on there? If it’s not Morning Glory itself then this is all bullshit.

Um, I still quite like Some Might Say.

I mean you said ‘Great Song’. I feel like if we were to put up a list of ‘great songs’ by Oasis I’d expect stuff like Acquiesce, Talk Tonight, Morning Glory, Live Forever etc. but while I can get a bit of love for Some Might Say I really think it’s a stretch to put it in that category.

There’s no Beatles album without at least one absolute duffer. That’s why I find it funny they’re all reviewed across the board as perfect 10s by critics. They can still be a brilliant band and not be flawless.

Great silly song. Lots of happy memories of that one.

I find Revolver perfect.

Ban request for anyone mentioning beth/rest because it implies that bonny ver by bo neither is a great album

I prefer Some Might Say to all of those. In fact, the only Oasis songs I’d really ever put on are SMS and Rock n Roll star. Maybe Supersonic.

Talk Tonight isn’t very good at all - are you sure?

I recall Talk Tonight being a really nice little b-side.

Glad someone’s said it.

Not “great” though?

I mean I dunno. I probably wouldn’t listen to any Oasis song now as I played the ones I loved so much back in the day but when I was fan it was in my top 10 for sure I think.

Yep, same goes for me, really. If you’d asked me 24 years ago, I’d have been banging on about Whatever being great as well.
