That is an absolute fucking nonsense. Why do they even bother doing the rounds before the showstopper? Seems you can knock out any old shit in them and then if someone manages to mess up a bit more than you in the final round youā€™re grand.

Did I watch something different from other people? Laura did better than Hermine in two of the rounds, and they said her showstopper tasted amazing vs. Something they clearly didnā€™t enjoy from Hermine ā€¦

Previous rounds donā€™t matter, based on this week it couldnā€™t really have gone any other way

Just frustrating because Hermine is demonstrably better than her. At least theyā€™ve always been consistent in the show on it being judged on that episode not past performance.

Agree, but thatā€™s always happened. Every series Iā€™ve watched thereS been a ā€œbetterā€ baker who went home too soon, or had a shit bread week etc etc. Does mean we lose some better people earlier, but I like it overall. Any other way wouldnā€™t really allow for people who improve over time if theyā€™ve had too many near misses to count against them

iā€™ve never really watched it properly until this year and iā€™ve been wondering from the beginning whether or not the showstopper is supposed to be the only part of the episode that actually counts, definitely feels like that some weeks
